Reading and Writing
The Reading and Writing section assesses a wide range of academic literacy skills required for college success. It covers reading comprehension, information analysis, evidence-based reasoning, vocabulary in context, rhetorical effectiveness, organization of ideas, logical transitions, grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and standard written English conventions. Questions are drawn from diverse subject areas, including literature, history and social studies, the humanities, and the natural sciences.
Math
The Math section measures students' ability to apply mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills across a variety of topics. It includes algebra, advanced mathematics, functions, equations and inequalities, ratios, rates, percentages, proportional relationships, statistics, probability, data analysis, geometry, coordinate geometry, circles, area and volume, and basic trigonometry. Questions emphasize real-world applications, mathematical modeling, and analytical thinking. Throughout the Math section, students may use the built-in Desmos graphing calculator or an approved external calculator.
